Do not take driving test at Marrickville RTA, NSW.
I booked for a test a while ago. Then I check online for test route information. Unfortunately, I found that this RTA has a very bad reputation on some discussion forums. Generally, people who can have an easy pass will fail there, and some one even failed 5 time there before got a pass at another RTA. But I have booked there; so I have to wish myself good luck.
I didn't have a good luck yesterday. Failed because of two minor problems. 1. Didn't have enough observation at cross road. I understand that is my problem for long. I just don't want to shake my head like some drug addicted. When I passed the driving test and got license in Hong Kong (that was a one-shot success, and my driving skill was much much worse), the test officer told me I should improve on that. 2.Speeding. This is really ridiculous. I was constantly driving under 40km/s on a road with limit 60km/s. Yet I was called speeding. And his point is I didn't keep 3-sec distance to the car ahead. Come on, other cars kept on sneaking in my lane as I was slow. If I am driving under 30km/s, I am a hazard on the road and that's the concern.
After this experience, I believe that RTA is a money-making machine. They have been taking millions and millions of fine money from innocent people; and they are charging excessive test fees by just simply fail testers again and again. Better yet, the road is never a safe and convenient place for us.
After taking a second test at Bankstown, I successfully got my full licence.
ReplyDeleteI had sitting 2times already in silverwater. 1st time i did mistake. But 2nd time i was happily waiting for result because i thought i will surely pass. Bt he said 'fail'. I just thundered, how well should someone have to drive for getting a licence! It really ridiculous! 4 observation mistakes. It was really funny when he explained my mistake. Nothing to say!!
DeleteI went for my test at marrickville rta. After the test I was so happy and proud of what I had done. Parked perfectly was confident and followed everything so well I was sure that I would pass. My friends had previously told me not to go there but went anyway as it's just close and continent .
ReplyDeleteSitting waiting for my results sure there was no-way I could possibly fail ...... AND I FAILED! In complete shock. You need 90% to pass and I got 95% she told me I was an amazing driver but then said that I didn't check that someone wasn't running a red light ..... What !?!? And what I do is watch the traffic moving and when they stop I wait for the green then go !!
Total rip-off

ReplyDelete2nd time, I don't know why but the next lady testing me was so full of joy and totally calmed my nerves. She was so nice and made me feel comfortable like I wasn't even being tested. It was my daughter's birthday and as you can imagine I felt like I won the lottery when she announced that I passed!
It's not all bad, be confident and hope for the best. Even if you fail, take it as a blessing and practice more. I know it is costly but you can't buy another chance at life.
To all the people trying for their P's I'm 30 and finally got mine. You will get yours! Just drive safe and be confident. 🤗 Good luck guys
